How to disable two-factor authentication (2FA)

April 14, 2026

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an important layer that enhances the security of your Paribu account. When you switch to a new device or lose access to your authenticator app, you may need to temporarily disable 2FA and set it up again.

How is two-factor authentication (2FA) disabled?

To disable 2FA on Paribu, click the two-factor authentication item on the security settings page, confirm the action in the confirmation window, and complete verification by entering your account password. Once the action is complete, the 2FA code is no longer requested when you sign in or during security-sensitive actions.

Before you start

  • Make sure you know your Paribu account password
  • Keep in mind that your account security will be lower once 2FA is disabled

Disable 2FA

  1. Open Paribu.com and hover over the profile icon at the top right
  2. Click Security settings in the menu that appears
  3. Click Two-factor authentication
  4. In the confirmation window that opens, click the Disable button
  5. Enter your password in the password verification window and click the Continue button

Warning: When 2FA is disabled, your account security level drops. If you are switching to a new authenticator app, it is recommended to set up 2FA again immediately after disabling it.

What changes after 2FA is disabled?

Once 2FA is turned off, the following actions request the SMS verification code sent to your registered phone number instead of the Google Authenticator code:

  • Signing in to Paribu
  • Confirming a crypto asset withdrawal
  • Verification before changing your password
  • Changes to security settings

Note: When 2FA is disabled, your account security level drops. To keep your account protected, it is recommended to set 2FA up again; you can track your security level from the What is the account security level and how is it raised? article.

Frequently asked questions

Which verification is required to disable 2FA?

The verification method varies by the platform you use. The Paribu app requests the 6-digit code generated by Google Authenticator; on Paribu web, verification is done with your account password.

I cannot access the Google Authenticator app. How can I remove 2FA?

If you cannot access the Google Authenticator app, you cannot disable 2FA on your own. You can start the live support chat through Paribu Support to report your situation and learn the steps required for account recovery.

Can I set 2FA up again after disabling it?

Yes. You can set up 2FA again at any time. For details, see the How to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) article.

Will disabling 2FA trigger a crypto asset withdrawal restriction?

No. The 48-hour crypto asset withdrawal restriction only applies after a password change. Disabling 2FA does not trigger this restriction.
