If you see a full-screen message instead of the normal screens when the app opens, there are three possible reasons: your device is not supported, a short maintenance is in progress, or your internet connection cannot reach the Paribu servers. None of these is a problem with your account — your account and your assets are not affected.
You can find the reason and the solution in the table below, based on the title on the screen.
| What you see on the screen | Reason | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| This device is not supported | The device operating system has been modified (root or jailbreak) | Open the app on a device with its original software |
| We are under maintenance for a short time | Maintenance work is being performed on the infrastructure | Waiting is enough; the screen clears on its own when maintenance ends |
| Please check your internet connection | The connection cannot reach the Paribu servers | Try a different connection; if a filtering service is active, contact your provider |
For your security, Paribu does not run on devices whose operating system has been modified (rooted or jailbroken). This check is performed at startup and cannot be bypassed; deleting and reinstalling the app, updating it, or changing settings does not change the result.
In this case the only solution is to open the app on a device whose operating system has not been modified. Your account and your assets are not affected; when you sign in from another device, you access your account normally.
This screen appears when a short maintenance is being performed on the Paribu infrastructure. Transactions cannot be made during maintenance.
Note: Exiting the maintenance state is automatic. The app repeats the check in the background on its own, and the screen clears when the service returns. You do not need to delete and reinstall the app
This message appears when your device cannot reach the Paribu servers even though it has an internet connection. The most common cause is a filtering service on your internet line, such as a family profile. These filters can silently block the connection to Paribu; to you it looks like "I have internet but the app does not open".
Try the following in order:
If you see a camera permission message during account verification or QR scanning, this is not a startup block; camera access is only needed for that step. When you turn on the camera permission for Paribu in your device settings, you can continue with the flow. For details, see the Camera permission issues article.
No. In none of these three cases does deleting and reinstalling the app change the result. Maintenance clears on its own, a connection problem is on the network side, and the device check is independent of the installation.
Maintenance work is short, and its completion is detected without you having to wait on the screen. You can leave the app open and check again after a while.
Some customization apps or modified system components can trigger this check. If you try another device and still get no result, reach us through the support chat stating your device model and operating system version.
Yes. Maintenance only pauses access to the app temporarily; your account and your assets are not affected.
No. If you can get into the app, it is not one of the blocks in this article. For transaction blocks experienced after logging in, see the Why can I not make transactions? article.
