In the Paribu app, operations such as identity verification, liveness verification, and QR code scanning require camera and microphone access. The relevant operations cannot be started without these permissions being granted.
The Paribu app uses camera permission for ID card scanning, verifying the ID card with the camera, liveness verification, and QR code reading; it uses microphone permission for the spoken questions in the liveness verification. When permission is not granted, you see the title Grant permission to continue on the screen with this description: "Enable camera and microphone access so we can verify your account. Open settings and grant permission."
If you denied the permission request, the app shows the Open settings button that takes you directly to the device settings. When you grant the permission in the settings and return to the app, Paribu checks the permission again automatically and the process continues from where it left off.
If you missed the direction button, you can turn the permissions on manually from the device settings.
Note: When you return to the app, the permission status is checked automatically; if the permissions have been granted, the process continues from where it left off. You do not need to close and reopen the app
For the spoken questions in the liveness verification, speech recognition permission is also required. When this permission is not granted, you see the title Speech recognition permission required on the screen with the warning "We need speech recognition permission to complete your verbal interview. Please grant permission in your device settings and try again."
If the permission step cannot be completed twice, the verification starts again from the ID scanning step.
If the camera or microphone is not working even though you granted permission, you may see the Camera could not be started warning on the screen. Try the following:
If the error continues even though you granted permission from the device settings, you can contact Paribu Support: 0850 303 60 00. Sharing your device model and your operating system version helps the issue to be resolved quickly.
No. Besides identity verification, camera permission is also used for QR code scanning. Microphone permission, on the other hand, is needed for the spoken questions in the liveness verification.
When you turn the permissions off, you cannot use the operations that require the camera or the microphone; identity verification cannot be started and QR code scanning does not work.
No. The camera and the microphone are accessed only during the relevant operation. When the operation is complete, the access ends.
No. On Android devices NFC is a separate device setting. If NFC is off, the app directs you to the NFC setting with a separate screen — for details you can view the NFC scan could not be completed article.
