How to place a market order?

June 24, 2026

A market order fills your trade instantly at the best available market price. You do not set a price; speed is your priority. The market order can be used in all three views: quick, standard and advanced.

What is a market order?

When you place a market order, your trade is filled instantly at the best available market price. You do not set a price; the priority is speed. Under heavy market conditions, the fill price may differ from what you expected. This order type suits users who care more about a guaranteed fill than the price level.

When to use it

  • When you want to buy or sell an asset quickly without targeting a specific price
  • When you want to enter or exit the market urgently
  • When you want to complete a trade instantly on highly liquid popular pairs

How to place a market order?

To place a market order on the Paribu web, go to the market detail page and select Market from the Order type drop-down menu in the trading form. The price field is disabled for a market order; you only enter the amount to complete the trade. The trade is matched instantly at the best prices in the order book.

Before you begin

  • Account verification must be complete
  • Depending on the pair you select, you must have enough TRY or USDT balance to buy and enough crypto asset balance to sell

Steps

  1. Open Paribu.com and go to the Markets page from the top menu
  2. Click the asset you want to trade to open the market detail page
  3. Select the Buy or Sell tab in the trading form in the top left
  4. Select Market from the Order type drop-down menu
  5. Enter the amount or use the bar below the amount field to select a portion of your balance
  6. Click Buy or Sell to complete the trade

Note: For a quick market order, instead of going to the market detail page, you can use the Buy / Sell window opened from the Buy-Sell button in the top right of the page. All trades placed from this window are filled as market orders

How a market order differs from a limit order

A market order is filled instantly at the current price, while a limit order is filled when the price you set is reached. With a market order, the trade is guaranteed to fill, but the fill price may vary depending on the order book at that moment. With a limit order, you set the price, but the order remains pending if no counter-order is available.

Important information

  • The minimum trade amount is TRY 100 for TRY pairs and 1 USDT for USDT pairs
  • The taker fee rate always applies to market orders
  • A market order cannot be cancelled because it is filled instantly
  • The market order can be used both in the form on the market detail page and in the Buy / Sell window

Frequently asked questions

Why is the fill price different from what I expected?

A market order matches sequentially with the existing orders in the order book. If your order amount exceeds the liquidity at the first row, it continues at the price of the next row. For this reason, the average fill price may differ from the price you saw at the moment you placed the order.

Can I cancel a market order?

No. A market order cannot be cancelled because it is filled instantly. You can view your trade records from the transaction history under My assets in the app, or on the Account activity page on the web.

In which views can I place a market order?

In the app, the market order can be used in all three views: quick, standard and advanced. Only market orders are supported in the easy view. On the web, you can place a market order in the standard and advanced views of the market detail page and in the Buy / Sell window opened from the top right.
