QR transfer is the fastest way for Paribu users to send and request crypto assets between each other. Instead of entering the other party's wallet address, phone number, or email address, you can complete the transfer simply by scanning a QR code.
What is QR transfer?
QR transfer is an internal transfer method where Paribu users create and share a QR code to request a crypto asset, while the sending party scans this code to complete the transfer. The transaction takes place through the Paribu infrastructure; no network fee is applied and the transfer completes instantly.
What are the advantages of QR transfer?
Three core features distinguish QR transfer from other transfer methods:
- Free: Since the blockchain network is not used, there is no network fee.
- Instant: The asset is credited to the recipient's balance the moment the sending is confirmed.
- Error-free: Instead of typing or copying long wallet addresses, you scan the QR code; the risk of an incorrect address is reduced.
Note: QR transfer only works between Paribu users. QR transfer cannot be used for a wallet or exchange outside Paribu.
How is a crypto asset sent by QR?
You can send by scanning the QR code shared by the other party. The steps are as follows:
- Tap Send by QR from the transfer options on the Wallet tab
- In the Send crypto asset screen that opens, if camera access is requested, approve it
- Frame the QR code with your camera; the system reads the code automatically
- To use a QR image saved in your phone's gallery, you can use the Choose from gallery button
- If the requesting party has set an amount, this amount is loaded automatically; you only confirm the transaction
- If the request was created without an amount, enter the amount you want to send (you can use the 25%, 50%, or All quick selection buttons)
- Tap the Send button
- When the transaction is completed, a confirmation screen is shown; you can review the transfer with View transaction details
How is a crypto asset requested by QR?
To receive a crypto asset from another Paribu user, you can create and share a QR code:
- Tap Request by QR from the transfer options on the Wallet tab
- In the Request crypto asset screen that opens, select the crypto asset you want to request — Bitcoin (BTC) is selected by default; you can switch to the crypto asset you want from the asset list
- You can set an amount or create a QR without an amount
- With amount: The other party sees and confirms the amount you have set directly (for a request with an amount, the minimum sending amount is TRY 10)
- Without amount: The other party sets the amount they want to send themselves
- With the Share QR code or Share request button, you can send the code to the person you want
- When the QR code is shared directly, a special visual card containing the Paribu logo and informational text is created
- If you share the request as a link, the recipient is directed to the transfer screen directly when they tap the link
- When the other party completes the transfer, you receive a notification and the asset is credited to your balance
Things to consider in QR transfer
- Only Paribu QR codes: The scanner only accepts QR codes generated by Paribu. For QRs from other apps, the warning "Use Paribu's QR code for this transaction" is shown.
- Insufficient balance: If the requested amount is higher than your balance, the missing amount is shown on the screen; you can try again after increasing your balance.
- Temporary sending block: Sending may be temporarily disabled for some crypto assets. In this case, you can suggest the recipient to request a different asset.
- Minimum amount: When creating a request with an amount, the minimum sending amount is TRY 10; QR requests cannot be created below this value.
- QR code expiry: Every QR request created has a validity period. When the period ends, the QR code becomes invalid; you need to create a new QR.
Warning: Share the QR request only with people you trust. Anyone who obtains the link, provided they are a Paribu user, can view your request and make a transfer.
In which cases does QR transfer not work?
QR transfer is disabled in the following cases:
- Transfer with non-Paribu users: The party scanning the QR code needs to use the Paribu app and have an active account.
- Temporary asset disabling: For certain crypto assets, Paribu may pause sending from time to time; in this case sending by QR is also not possible.
- Account restriction: QR transfers cannot be made from accounts with a withdrawal restriction.
Frequently asked questions
Do I pay any fee for QR transfer?
No. QR transfers are free of charge. Since the blockchain network is not used, no network fee is applied.
Can I use the same QR code more than once?
QR requests are created as one-time use and become invalid at the end of the period. To send a repeat request, you need to create a new QR.
What should I do if my camera does not open during scanning?
If camera access is denied, the app indicates this on the screen. You can grant camera permission to the Paribu app in your device settings and try again. Without using the camera, you can also upload a QR image from your phone gallery with the Choose from gallery button.
Can I cancel a transfer I sent by QR?
No. QR transfers happen instantly and cannot be cancelled after they are completed. Checking the recipient and the amount before sending is recommended.
Can I share the QR request from other apps?
Yes. The Share request option opens your device's share menu; you can send through any of your installed apps such as messaging, email, or social media.
