How to make an internal Paribu transfer

Paribu users can send crypto assets to each other free of charge and instantly. Internal transfers are completed through the Paribu infrastructure rather than the blockchain network; therefore no network fee is applied and the transaction reaches the recipient within a few seconds.

What is an internal transfer?

An internal transfer is a transfer type that lets you send a crypto asset from your Paribu account to another Paribu user through the Paribu infrastructure. You can identify the recipient by phone number, email address, or wallet address. The transaction is completed instantly with no network fee.

What are the advantages of internal transfers?

Three core features distinguish internal transfers from other withdrawal methods:

• Free: Since the blockchain network is not used, there is no network fee.
• Instant: The asset is credited to the recipient's balance the moment the transaction is confirmed; no blockchain confirmation time is required.
• Simple: You can send by phone number or email address instead of a wallet address.

Note: Internal transfers do not include steps such as network selection, memo entry, or long wallet address input; recipient information and amount are sufficient.

How is an internal transfer made?

You can switch to the internal transfer flow by selecting To a Paribu user in the recipient selection step of the withdrawal flow. The steps are as follows:

1. Tap the Wallet tab
2. Tap the crypto asset you want to send
3. Tap the Send button
4. In the destination platform selection, tap the To a Paribu user option
5. Enter the recipient's phone number, email address, or Paribu wallet address
   • You can use the Paste button to paste from the clipboard
   • With the Scan QR button you can scan the recipient's QR code
   • With the Address book button you can select a saved recipient
   • To select a number from your phone contacts, tap the Contacts button
6. The system automatically verifies the recipient and shows whether they are a registered Paribu user
7. Tap the Continue button
8. Enter the amount you want to send (you can use the 25%, 50%, or All quick selection buttons)
9. Tap the Continue button
10. Enter a short description in the Travel Rule form
11. Review the summary screen and tap the Send button

When the transaction is completed, the asset is credited to the recipient's account instantly and a notification is sent to both parties.

Can I send to an unregistered recipient?

Internal transfers can only be made between Paribu users. If the phone number, email address, or wallet address you enter does not belong to a registered Paribu user, the system states that no Paribu user could be found with this information and the transaction does not proceed. To complete the transfer, you need to enter information belonging to a registered Paribu user.

Warning: As soon as you enter the recipient information, the system performs a verification. To continue, the recipient must be registered with Paribu; make sure the information is correct and current.

How does the Travel Rule work for internal transfers?

Since internal transfers happen within Paribu, recipient information is already on file. For this reason the Travel Rule form does not request recipient type and platform information as in external withdrawals; you only need to enter a short description. The description field follows the same rules as external transfers and must contain at least 20 characters.
