You do not need to deposit money into a separate account to transact in DeFi. When you buy on the DEX, the USDT in your Paribu balance is used; when you sell, the proceeds return to your Paribu balance as USDT. In other words, there is no separate deposit and withdrawal flow for DeFi.
DEX transactions work directly with your Paribu balance. When you buy, the USDT in your Paribu balance is spent and the token you buy is reflected in your self-custody DeFi wallet. When you sell, this flow is reversed: the token leaves your wallet and the proceeds are added to your Paribu balance as USDT.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Buy | The USDT in your Paribu balance is spent, the token is reflected in your DeFi wallet |
| Sell | The token leaves your DeFi wallet, the proceeds return to your Paribu balance as USDT |
Note: You must have sufficient USDT in your Paribu balance to buy on the DEX. If your USDT balance is insufficient, you are directed to the USDT deposit flow from the transaction screen
While the transaction is in progress, the amount to be used is temporarily blocked in your Paribu balance to prevent the same balance from being used twice. You can see this amount in the Transfers row of the blocked balance detail of the relevant asset.
For all reasons behind a blocked balance, see the What is blocked balance and why does it occur? article.
When you confirm the sale, the transaction on the blockchain takes place, but adding the USDT to your Paribu balance usually takes a few minutes. During this period the transaction appears in the Pending tab of the Transactions screen; it is not stuck. For details, see the How do I sell a token on a DEX? I sold, when will my money arrive? article.
No. You transact directly with the USDT in your Paribu balance; no separate account or manual transfer is required.
Yes. When you sell the token on the DEX, the proceeds return to your Paribu balance as USDT, and from there you can convert to TRY or withdraw.
Your DEX transactions run through your Paribu balance; you do not need to transfer to your DeFi wallet from an external wallet.
Some of your balance reserved in a previous attempt has not been returned yet. This is not an error; the amount is refunded automatically and the estimated time is two minutes. When the refund is complete, you can continue with the Try again button on the screen.
