What does a wrong network transfer mean?

Supported but wrong network selection: You sent on a network supported on Paribu, but it does not match the network of the recipient address. For example, sending an asset that should be sent on the ERC-20 network with BEP-20
Unsupported network use: You sent on a network that Paribu does not support for the relevant asset. For example, sending using the Polygon network while only ERC-20 is supported on Paribu
Sending a different type of asset: Sending a different crypto asset to a deposit address that supports a different asset. For example, sending ETH to a BTC deposit address

The level of recoverability of each scenario differs. While recovery may be more likely in mismatches between networks that share the same address format (such as ERC-20 and BEP-20), recovery may not be technically possible in completely different blockchain structures.

Note: The TX hash is found in the transaction history of the platform you sent from. This code is the unique identifier that allows the transfer to be tracked on the blockchain

How can it be prevented in the future?

A few simple checks before sending are sufficient to prevent wrong network transfers:

Verify network match: Select the same network on the sending platform as the network on which you created the deposit address on the recipient platform. Paribu shows the warning "The address you entered does not match the selected network" in case of network mismatch
Pay attention to warning messages: Paribu shows warnings about network selection on its withdrawal and deposit screens. Read these warnings carefully
Make a test transfer: If you are sending to an address or network for the first time, you can first try a small test amount. After the test transfer is successful, you can send the actual amount
Always copy the address: Transfer the deposit address by copy-paste or QR code instead of typing it manually
