İsmail Hakkı Polat and Mert Fırat recorded the third episode of “Tüm Zamanların En Yükseği” (The Highest of All Times) podcast series sponsored by Paribu. The guest of this podcast has been sports columnist and commentator Mehmet Demirkol.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The question posed by Mert Fırat to Demirkol directed the course of the whole conversation: “How can Turkish football be saved?”<\/p>\n

Demirkol answered: “Turkish football is a bubble, in other words, it lives on subventions, it is not real.” Stating that it is not possible anymore that star players, such as Alex, come to play football in Turkey at a young age, Mehmet Demirkol added that European football is leaving Turkey in the dust.<\/p>\n

Emphasizing that in Turkey football coaches are changed frequently, Demirkol stated that this hinders bringing up young football players.<\/p>\n

Fan token is a means of extra revenue for sport clubs<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Upon the question of Mert Fırat, İsmail Hakkı Polat explained the effect of tokens on the sports clubs. Polat expressed that fan tokens yield extra revenue to sports clubs and give voting rights to the buyers in return. He mentioned that the users support their clubs by buying fan tokens and underlined that they can also have a say in clubs’ decisions. “To illustrate, Galatasaray was the first one to sign such a contract and paid the receivables of the players with the sum it yielded from the supply of May and June,” said Polat.<\/p>\n
